RESEARCH OPENING : ECOLOGICAL MODELLING IN THE HIMALAYAS AND THE WESTERN GHATS

Name of the position : Project Assistant (2 nos.).

Qualification :
1st class MSc (Mathematics/ Statistics/ Ecology/Botany/zoology), MTech (Computer/ Electrical/ Civil Engineering), BE (civil, electrical, computer science).

Fellowship :
Rs. 7,500/- for fresh graduates and Rs. 12,000/- for a postgraduate with two years work experience. Emolument will be fixed based on the qualification and experience.

Research Project : Ecological Modelling in the Himalayas and the Western Ghats.

Nature of Work : Review of literature on ecological models, data analysis, development of models, sensitivity analysis and validation of models, preparation of technical reports and any other work assigned from time to time. The selected candidate is expected to spend a few days in the field along with the research team to understand the techniques adapted in data collection and to refine the techniques if required.

Essential Qualification : MSc (Mathematics/ Statistics/ Ecology), MTech (Computer/ Electrical/ Civil Engineering).

Desirable Qualification :

1. PhD in Ecology/Mathematics/ Statistics.
2. Knowledge in computer programming.
